My baby turns 4

Our baby boy turned 4 last week, time has flown by and this is what he is got for his birthday.  A road map car quilt.  I think his lego will live on this quilt!
The pattern was a freebie from spotlight, you can find it here.  Very easy to make and could use any pattern fabric,  I got some from spotlight and some form Etsy.

He is also right into tools and fixing things at the moment and we had 3 other birthdays this week for little boys so made them all their own personalised tool belts.

Happy Birthday big boy!

Miss Lillie turns 7

Last friday night we celebrated Lillie's 7th birthday at home under the caravan awning.  She had 7 little girls join her for the evening with a strawberry theme. We have a strawberry picnic set and she'd be eyeing up the napkins!  Every time i went to use one i ended up putting it back as she said there wouldn't be enough for her party!!!

They made brooches and other little things out of du-kit which I baked for them.

We had a treasure hunt for them round the garden.

Spin the beer bottle for presents was the main thing that Lillie wanted to do!!!

And yah for pinterest for food ideas.

The smallest two people had there very own table!

That pic of Dad just about says it all about the night!!!  We had a few tears from the birthday girl, all over being bossed about and argueing over game rules!!!  And Dad had strict instructions from the birthday girl, could he please have a shower and wear something nice!!

And pass the parcel, which little brother calls parcel parcel!

And the chocolate game which I can remember playing at parties as a kid.

Happy birthday Lillie!!

The watermelon ice cream that we ran out of time and room in our bellies for, which we enjoyed for the rest of the weekend.

And the goodie bags that were at the end of the treasure hunt.

Surprise!

On Saturday my little family said they'd like to take me out for a coffee because we hadn't done anything apart from have cake in bed the day before, they asked me where I'd like to go and told me we were going to leave at 1.30pm.  So 1.30pm comes and we were still having lunch, dad was rushing everyone to get in the car, I said we should just go later but he still kept rushing us.  So then we are driving, we drove past the cafe of my choice and were wondering where we were going.  The we pull up to this cafe, I notice a few cars that I know and then the penny drops, its a surprise tea party!

There was a large table full of my female friends and family, some had travelled from the other side of the island, they had snuck into town the night before.  I had wondered why everyone had been avoiding me the last few days!  They didn't want to spill the beans!

The table was laid beautifully complete with handmade upcycled napkins which I am allowed to keep.  Lillie stayed for two minutes then was whisked away to go and fetch her cousins who were waiting for her at one of the husbands house.

Layers of cakes, scones, slices and sandwiches came to the table and I wished I hadn't just had my lunch!!

And there was a pile of presents waiting for me at my seat too.  Then there was cupcakes and candles to blow out then we all got two cupcakes in a cute takeaway case to take home.  And someone took all these amazing photos.

And above this was the sewing helper for the napkins!

And this is the chief secret squirrel organiser!!! Thank you all so much. I had a great afternoon and yes i was very surpried!  You are all good secret keepers!

Today

Today I turned 40!  Arrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh, sounds old!!!

It all started at 6am with chocolates and presents in bed, then cake for breakfast!

Once the kids were at school and preschool I went to a friends house for a lovely morning tea, felt like we were at the Ritz for high tea!  Thanks ladies was a fun morning and I came home with armfuls of great presents.

We didn't even get to the birthday cake so we all took a wedge home for avo tea.

My Cath collection is growing, roll on summer and picnics, I'm all set to go.

And this is what I bought myself, been using already, the hooks are lovely to use and I love the book.  Happy birthday to me!
