School books covered with fabric

The kids have gone back to school and preschool and this is a great way to use up some fabric from the stash!!

You just cut out the fabric like you would be cutting duraseal (sticky back plastic for you foreigners!)

Then run glue stick over bit of front and back just to hold it before you sew.  For the dark fabric I sewed on white fabric rectangles to write names otherwise on the light colours you can just write on fabric.

Then run glue stick just round the inside edge of book.  Wait till glue dries then you are ready to sew.

I just sewed round edge of fabric just to hold it there.

And thats it, done!

  1. Gorgeous looking books - I hope the kids have a great term and you happily enjoy having a wee bit of time to yourself to be creative. I sent a fabric parcel to you this week but forgot to say who it was from :) and haven't been able to find a way to private message you. Anyway hope you enjoy the fabrics - hugs from Roz in ChCh http://www.squiltz.blogspot.co.nz/
